How do I check if Korean skincare is original?
Find the expiry or manufacture date machine-printed on the box and again on the bottle or tube, and check the two match. The back label names the maker with a Korean address, and the barcode usually starts with 880. Brands such as Anua, Medicube, Purito Seoul and AXIS-Y also have their own QR or HiddenTag check.
Why does my Japanese product have no expiry date?
Japanese law lets a product that stays stable for three years carry only a lot code, so a missing expiry date is normal on Japanese skincare. The lot code should be printed into the pack and match on the box and the bottle.
Does a QR code prove a product is original?
Only if it opens the brand's own website or app. Fake boxes with QR codes that lead to marketplace or lookalike pages have been found, so always look at the address the code opens.
Can a lot number prove a product is real?
No. A lot or batch code shows when a product was made, and free decoders can estimate that date, but a copy can carry a real code. None of the brands we stock runs an official lot-number lookup; match the code on the box and the bottle and use the brand's own QR or HiddenTag check where it has one.
