Glow Games: a free skincare game you can play in your browser

We made a game. It's short, it's silly, and it's free to play on your phone at skinmaxbd.com/play. Nothing to download and no account to make.

The idea came from the messages we get. Half the questions in our inbox are some version of "which one do I use for this?", and a game turned out to be a fun way to answer it in thirty seconds.

Make a character that looks like you

You start by making your character. Pick a skin tone, face shape, eyes, brows, lips, hair or hijab, and an outfit: salwar kameez, kurti, saree, abaya and more. There are small touches too, like kajal, a nose pin, glasses and freckles. Type your name and you're ready.

Your character is saved only in your own browser. It doesn't come to us unless you ask for a sticker pack (more on that below).

Glow Parlour

You run a tiny skincare parlour for 30 seconds. Clients walk in with a problem in a speech bubble, the kind everyone in Bangladesh has said at least once: dust after a rickshaw ride, a pimple the day before a photoshoot, a dull face before a wedding dawat, skin cracking in winter, or a Cox's Bazar trip next week.

Tap the right product on the shelf and rub or tap it in before the client's patience runs out. Get it right and you earn a tip and build a combo. Get it wrong and she lets you know. Catch the Glow

The second game is 20 seconds long. Products fall from the top of the screen and you catch them. Monsters fall too, and they get faster and start to zig-zag, so the last few seconds are the hard part.

Share your poster and challenge a friend

When a round ends you get a poster of your character with your name, a title and your score. Share to Story sends it straight to Instagram, Facebook or wherever your phone shares to. If your phone can't share images, it downloads the picture instead.

Challenge a friend sends a link with your score on it. When your friend opens it, the game tells her the score she has to beat.

Get your character as stickers

After a game you can ask for a sticker pack of the character you made. Leave your phone number and we text you a link to your stickers straight away. We keep the number so we can send them, and now and then a skincare tip. That's explained under the number box, and in our privacy policy.

Is it really free?

Yes. The game shows real products from our shop on the shelf, because those are the ones we'd hand a friend for each problem, and you can tap through to them if you're curious. You don't have to buy anything to play, share or get stickers.
